May Favorites

May passed by quite slowly for me. I do know why but that is going to be written in another post. Let's focus on what I have loved on May!

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you?
This is easy! I have A LOT of funny stories but one that I find very funny and quite awkward was on my 1st day of working at Watsons, a group of Bangladeshi guys came in and search for something and they were wandering around the shop.

Since the shop experience a lot of "missing items", I asked them if they need anything specifically. And they took few minutes speaking in their language and then only one of them asked (in broken Malay), "Do you have any product to remove hairs?".

Being an attentive worker that I am that day, I showed them some of the razors and an electrical hair-removal device.

Few minutes later after they check those items, the same guy asked me while whispering, "Do you have any cream to remove the hairs under there?" while pointing at his crotch.

So I pick up some of the shaving creams and tell him which is suitable for who, etc. It was so awkward but funny at the same time that I have to hold my laughter until I finish work!

Which book(s) did you read?
This past month I've finished 2 of books. I have to check my Goodreads' account since nearly all my belongings traveled across the state (to my parents' house in Selangor) already.

1. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

I watched a lot of favorites video on YouTube mentioning how this book is so amazing and even my cousin (who is kind enough to let me borrow his book) forced me to read it.

Being a procrastinator that I am, I took ageeeeeees to finish it up. I started reading this on 27th of April and finished the book on 14th of May.

O_O

The book is so good that I really going to buy a copy of my own and read them again and gonna force my friends to read it! SOON! *evil grin*

2. Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter Series, #18 : Flirt by Laurell K. Hamilton.

Favorite movies, TV Shows, YouTube videos?
I did not watch any movies sadly but I am trying to keep up with some TV series that I love.

One of them is New Girl that I have a love-hate relationship with but I did finish the current season.

It was exciting in terms of watching how Nick & Jess' relationship evolve in an awesomely awkward situations as well as heartbreaking when Cece decided to marry _____. Not going to spill the beans here.

I have yet to finish another 3 episodes so DO NOT ruin it for me!

I did watch Suburgatory's second season until it's finale and it was devastating. I can ramble on what I like and don't like but I think it would ruin some of your expectations. Just watch it!

Something that made you proud of yourself?
I don't think I can think of anything really.

Except for the fact that I am graduating in December!

Yes, I passed all the subjects that I took on my 7th semester (yes, I did extend 1 semester instead of graduating after 6th semester). I took 2 subjects that I failed few semester ago and 1 subject that I dropped when I was on my 4th semester.

Alhamdulillah, Praise Allah for the chance he given to me to finish my Diploma!

Even though my GPA dropped this semester,it was as what I have expected because these subjects are not my strongest subject.

But when I rethink on how the classes are especially for Thermodynamics, I really like that subject and I do find it very amusing to understand even though I take a while to get the hang of it as well as Dynamics. I really need to work on this subject more next time!

Which games did you play?
None.

Did you travel anywhere?
Yes I did! My family and I (except Luqman) went to Langkawi and it was AMAZING!

Daddy,if you are reading this, I take back what I said when we just arrive there. I am glad I get to go there. A very much-needed holiday! :)

I'll update in another post because I have a lot of pictures to be edited as well as some random footage I took over the course of 3 days and 2 nights we spent there! :)

Which food did you try and loved?
In Malay it is called Nasi Goreng Ayam Merah or Fried Rice with Chili Chicken. Don't have any picture of it since I ate it while I was on break at work and I don't bring my camera with me.

It was sold at a stall in between of Bukit Mertajam's Maybank and MARA's building. If you search Cendol Best Bukit Mertajam I can assure you can find the stall. A husband and wife run the stall.

What so special about a fried rice you ask? Their fried rice is special because they use their amazingly delicious and fragrant Nasi Ayam or the rice they use for their chicken rice by frying them with other ingredients and they are so tasty!

If you ever in Bukit Mertajam area and do not have any clue where to eat, refer HERE :)

Favorite song(s) that you have been listening to?
I've been OBSESSED with:

Thirty Seconds To Mars' Up In The Air
Snoop Lion ft Miley Cyrus' Ashtrays and Heartbreaks
EarlyRise's Junkie
Selena Gomez's Come and Get It

I've listening to my old love of Korean Musics:

Lee Hyori's Bring It Back, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
4Minute's Huh, I My Me Mine, Superstar
2NE1's Lollipop, Fire, Clap Your Hands
GDragon's One of A Kind

Favorite products, accessories, clothes, etc?
Same ol' items I used as the previous April Favorites.

What did you learn?
I learnt that I love spending time with my family as much as I love spending the time on my own.

I learnt that pushing myself to get use to a new kind of job is doable. But to love a job that I did is impossible.

I learnt that I get too attached to things that I do not need. I throw out 2 full bag of garbage while packing my stuffs. O_O

I learnt that I hate it when people invade my personal space more that 36 hours. -_-

TL;DR:
May was slow,
Customer asked for cream to remove private part's hair,
Read: The Faults in Our Stars & Flirt,
Watched TV Shows: New Girl & Suburgatory,
Graduating on December marks the end of my Diploma,
Traveling to Langkawi.

Mini Update : 30th May 2013 : Goodbye Work & May

As I write this post, in about 1 hour and 12 minutes, it will be 31st of May and it is my LAST day of work!

I can't wait to not go there anymore.

I just can't stand the feeling of doing almost nothing.

I need a place to work that makes me walk around doing something so that time pass by quickly!

But of course I will cherish the memories and people I met during the 1 month period I've worked there. :)

I will update more soon. So many things to write, so little time to do so. (For now)

See you in few more days!

Mini Update : 15th May 2013 : Random things need to be said, Family vacay at Pangkor & Job Update #4 : Day 15

First of, I just want to say how disappointed I am with myself for not having a me time especially for my blog and most important, to work out.

There are voices in my head whispering thousands of reasons to not do what I want and one of the strongest would be the "I've been working and I need to unwind by bathing, soak my feet in a hot water while watching some YouTube videos. No time to exercise or write a blog post."

I know this will affect my mood as well as my health.
I MUST re-plan my life.
I MUST find a way to squeeze in some exercises as well as time to write my rambles for all you lovely people to read! :D

Last post was posted on 10th May is definitely not considered as writing. I mean, I do typed it but I did not take my own sweet time to elaborate ramble what happened in my life.

I think the post that I really did took my time was my April Favorites I posted on 1st May as of what I posted in May.

Job update:

If you read last post of mine, you would know that I was in KL for a while (less than 36 hours) because my family and I (except my brother, Luqman) went for a family vacation so I worked for 8 day and get 1 rest day as well as 4 day emergency leave. But since today is day 15 of May, I will just use the day based on what day it was in May that I write/work as reference (I don't think this makes any sense so..........).

Moving onto the family vacation, we went to Pulau Pangkor and we stayed at Berjaya's Hotel/Beach Resort and it was amazing! I don't want to go back to Penang. I want to stay there but I don't have money because I am a broke 22 years old girl who just finished her diploma and now works at a place where she is slowly but surely getting the hang of the working surrounding but not really into the job too much.

But who am I to complain? At least I have a job rather that not doing anything!

There is a new staff at work and we get along okay but still awkward but that is okay. Give us 1 more week and we'll be a dynamic duo. LOLZ. Seriously, we might!

The boss planned to come but he didn't. I was a relieved but am nervous for tomorrow too because he might come tomorrow since he didn't today.

The store blacked out for few minutes, I thought there was another why-I did-not-feel-any-movement-whenever-there-is-an-earthquake-happening type of situation because I think my body was immune to the shakiness. Turn out, it was just the mall's having an electric trip or something. I don't know and there is no one I can ask about that.

I think this is it for today. I am so sleepy because I've worked a full-day today from 8.30 am to 10.10 pm. Need to take my shower and soak my feet in hot water and might read or watch some YouTube videos and call it a day!

Hope everyone is having a great day and great rest!

Diploma Result & Job Update #3 : 9th day of working

Even though today is my rest day, it is still counted as a working day because I still get my pay. One of the perks of working full-time, however starting tomorrow until the 13th of May is all unpaid leaves. Will be at KL for a while to spend time with the family. ;)

Still don't feel really into the idea of working there.YET. We'll see in another week or so.

Also, I checked my email at 1 am today and I nearly got a heart attack due to the sight of an email from my campus. The result I have been waiting anxiously for a little of a month is right in front of my eyes.

My heart was thumping like I was not able to get enough oxygen in because I am scared that the result is not what I expect.

FYI, I do not have a high expectation this time. I just hoped that I pass all the papers so that I can graduate and just forget about my diploma for a while.

And I was shocked and happy and verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry grateful because I passed all the subjects. Alhamdulillah!

My pointer dropped a lot but I have expected that will happen so I don’t feel too much pressure but thank goodness that my CGPA or the overall pointer over the course of seven semesters did not go below 3. I will be graduating in few months I guess! Yay!!

This is it for now. Am really sorry for not being able to update what I have eaten like I used to. My food intake was not consistent now that I started working and I certainly don’t feel healthy. Need to think of something to counteract this problem of mine!

Job Update #2 : 6th day of work.

P/s: These was what I posted on my Facebook wall and After giving it more thought, I think I should just publish this in my blog as well.

Something rather stupid happened at work today.

***

Two guys came in. One bought a Playboy's perfume (with a free gift of boxer).

At the checkout counter, I asked if he needs a plastic bag and he said no since he only bought 1 item (it is just the policy to ask if the customer needs it and if yes, 20 cents charged. FYI, this applies to all major stores in Penang).

Few seconds later, his friend came and ask what he bought yada yada yada and he eventually ask why no plastic bag were given.

So I explained politely that plastic bags are not given if the customer does not want it or does not want to be charged 20 cents.

***

All of a sudden, his friend said a very STUPID comment.
He said, "Mesti sebab DAP menang so cas 20 sen."

At first I was like, "Umm, tak, memang plastic beg tidak diberi secara free unless customer nak bayar 20 sen."

That guy start making more stupid comments and start sending anger aura (you can definitely feel it) and saying things like, "DAP menang, plastik bag pun nak cas, kalau BN menang takde nak cas."

***

At that point, my blood boils a little because in my mind, "Is this guy that stupid to make a political comments on a freaking plastic bag?".

I verbalize some of my thoughts by saying, "Uh, hello, benda ni dah lama dah berkuatkuasa. Takde kaitan DAP ke BN menang. Saya duduk sini 3 tahun memang plastik beg takde bagi free."

He was like, "Ahhhhhh, ni semua sebab DAP. Kat Perak takde cas pun!". And he walked away.

***

If he had not walked away from the heated conversation, I will start spat "No plastic bag, cleaner Earth. Are you stupid?".

Like seriously, mulut longkang, muka pun tak hensem. Kau ingat aku bodoh ke. Bitch please. Go F yourself!

P/s: Based on the group which these 2 guys came from (they sat around at KFC right in front of my work place), they brought bag packs & luggage.
My Supervisor said they probably are the "Polis Bantuan" group from another state.
